---- — Ski club signup planned for Dec. 5

Londonderry Recreation Ski Club signups are Dec. 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Matthew Thornton Elementary School. The club will return to meeting on Saturday evenings. All information on trips, schedules and costs is available at londonderry.org.

Mothers to lay Wreath of Remembrance

On Saturday, Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. at the Londonderry Town Common, members of the N.H. Blue Star Mothers will lay a Christmas wreath in memory of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom, in honor of those presently serving in the military and in tribute to U.S. military personnel whose last known status was either Prisoner of War or Missing in Action. Silent auction set

Londonderry Middle School hosts its seventh annual silent auction Dec. 5 to support the school’s Wellness Committee and other healthy initiatives.

Gift baskets up for auction are on display at the school in the front office and lobby area. The auction begins at 5:30 p.m.

Artist featured at Leach Library

Londonderry artist Barbara Scott is the featured artist all during the month of December at Leach Library on Mammoth Road. Scott’s works will be on display all around the library.

Her works include many landscapes done in pastel and oil. She has been drawing since she was a child and has studied under Londonderry art educator Elaine Farmer.

Pete the Cat comes to town Dec. 9

Leach Library offers a program for children featuring a visit with Pete the Cat, star of the 2012 Ladybug Award winning story “Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes.” The program is Dec. 9 from 4 to 5 p.m. Advance registration is required by stopping by the Children’s Room or by calling 432-1127.

Women’s club has cookie swap

Londonderry Women’s Club meets Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. for a cookie swap. Anyone interested in joining the club is welcome to bring their favorite cookies and join in on the fun.

The club is a civic and social organization that has been involved in the community for more than 40 years. The club meets monthly, the third Wednesday of each month September through May. Call 421-0566 for information or visit londonderrywomensclub.com.

Seniors plan a holiday trip

A holiday trip for seniors is planned for Dec. 20, leaving the senior center on Mammoth Road at 10 a.m. and returning by 6 p.m.

Seniors will head to Portland to enjoy “The Magic of Christmas,” hosted by the Portland Symphony Orchestra. The cost is $69 and includes transportation, concert ticket and lunch. Call the center at 432-8554 to check on space availability.

Santa returns to CTV-20 on Dec. 21

Santa Claus is coming to the Londonderry Access Center again this year. He and Mrs. Claus will arrive on Dec. 21 and will be at the cable center from noon to 2 p.m. and will be live on CTV-20.

Volunteers needed for book sale

Leach Library is looking for some volunteers to work in the book sale room on Thursdays from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Volunteers can work one Thursday per month. Call Sandy Nelson at 432-1132.
