Old Home Day needs help

The Old Home Day Committee seeks people to help organize the annual five-day celebration set for Aug. 14-17 this year.

Old Home Day includes a Senior Night, Kids’ Night, parade, booths and baby contest. The committee meets the third Thursday of the month.

The next meeting is set for March 21 at 7 p.m. at the town offices.

‘Gardening Guy’ featured March 21

Leach Library hosts a gardening event on March 21 at 7 p.m. at the library.

A free talk, “Growing Great Flowers in New Hampshire: Including Old Favorites and Lesser Known Beauties” is offered, featuring the “Gardening Guy” Henry Homemeyer, well-known gardening columnist.

He will discuss what varieties of flowers grow best in New Hampshire and how to garden without chemicals. The event will be held in the library’s lower level meeting room.

It’s all about Easter at LHS

The Londonderry High School Class of 2016 hosts an Easter Egg Family Fun Day fundraiser on March 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the high school cafeteria.

Admission is free, but donations are accepted. There will be children’s crafts, an Easter egg hunt and photos with the Easter Bunny.

Library hosts a wildlife event

Leach Library hosts a wildlife event on March 25 from 4 to 5 p.m.

The WILD Center and Zoological Park of New England will be on hand to show off some animals including a green wing macaw and many other species.

Registration is now underway by calling the library at 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room.

Democrats to elect new officers

Londonderry Democrats will elect officers at a caucus meeting at 7 p.m. March 27 at Milana Legal, 78 West Broadway, Derry.

The nominating committee announced the proposed slate of officers: Tammy Siekmann for chairperson, Nancy Hendricks for vice chairman, Lorralyn Jeurgens for secretary and Mary Tetreau for treasurer.
