Couple wins ShelterBox award
Bill and Dennie Dyer have received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for the third year. The Londonderry couple were honored for their efforts assisting disaster survivors through the organization ShelterBox USA.
The couple began volunteering with the organization several years ago. To learn more, visit shelterboxsa.org.
Library hosts ‘Concord Coach’
Leach Library hosts a multi-media presentation April 17 on the Concord Coach, featuring Peter James from the Abbot-Downing Historical Society.
The event begins at 7 p.m. in the library’s lower level meeting room. The event is sponsored by the Londonderry Historical Society.
LHS students plan Easter egg hunt
The Londonderry High School Class of 2016 hosts an Easter egg hunt and visits with the Easter Bunny on April 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the high school gym.
The egg hunt begins at 11:30 a.m. and offers a separate patch for the youngest egg hunters. Participants should bring their own baskets.
Photos with the Easter Bunny are $3. The event is for children 12 and under. Donations are welcome.
Earth Day book bingo is April 28
Leach Library hosts an Earth Day book bingo event April 28 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the library on Mammoth Road.
Children are invited to stop by and have a chance to win books from the library’s special selection tables. Advance registration is required by calling 432-1127.
Cakeless bake sale fundraiser set
The Friends of the Leach Library hosts its seventh annual Cakeless Bake Sale fundraiser beginning May 1. All funds will be used to sponsor library programs and services. The Friends will ask for a donation, but not cakes or cookies.
Figure out who much it would cost to buy the items needed to bake a cake or cookies and send a donation for that amount to support the library. Donations can be made to: Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library, 276 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, 03052. Donations can also be made at the library.
