Senior movie day is Oct. 28
The Londonderry Senior Center hosts a Monday movie feature on Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m. featuring the film, “The Four Seasons.”
A pre-movie lunch will be held, including hot dogs, beans, macaroni and cheese, and a soda. The cost is $2 per person. Sign up before Oct. 25. Free popcorn will be provided.
Get help preparing for emergencies
The Londonderry Elder Affairs Committee, as part of its family education series, hosts a workshop at Leach Library on Oct. 23 from 6 to 7 p.m. to help residents become better prepared for a range of possible emergencies and disasters.
Garrett Simonsen, regional Public Health Network coordinator, will lead the presentation. It will include ways to understand the importance of personal preparedness, assess levels of preparedness and assemble emergency resources.
Local trail tours continue
Guided tours of the Peat Bog section of the trail continue on Oct. 27 with a tour led by Dr. John Daley, a Londonderry Trailways board member.
The tour begins at 3 p.m. Those attending the tour are asked to park off Exit 5 on Route 28 at the corner of Liberty Drive and Independence, behind the Irving gas station.
Crafters needed for Harvest Feast
Crafters are needed for the Londonderry Historical Society’s Harvest Feast, set for Oct. 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Morrison House.
The Harvest Feast is offered in conjunction with the Londonderry YMCA, Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and Orchard Christian Church. Call 537-2760.
Citizen, business honored
The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce awards its top Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year at the annual dinner and awards ceremony Oct. 10 at the Atkinson Country Club.
Citizen of the Year is given posthumously this year to John Michels of Londonderry. Business of the Year is Amphora Greek restaurant in Derry.
