LONDONDERRY — The fire department received a boost for a community smoke detector/carbon monoxide installation program.
The department received a $2,000 grant from worldwide commercial property insurer FM Global. The money will be used to assist with fire prevention activities in the community, education and to help reduce the number of fires.
That includes developing and implementing the detector program.
This program will target those in town who have a higher risk for fires and injuries, including senior citizens, low-income residents and those with disabilities.
