LONDONDERRY — Area artists and their work will be put in the spotlight during the upcoming Art in Action event, set for May 4 and 5 at Mack’s Apples farm market on Mammoth Road.
The weekend event is sponsored by Mack’s and the Londonderry Arts Council. The show runs both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Art in Action provides artists with an opportunity to demonstrate their artistic process, interact with the public as they work and also display finished pieces for sale.
The show features two-dimensional art, oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, pen-and-ink, colored pencil and mixed media.
Artists showcased include Derry artists Sharon Allen, Corinne Dodge, Susan Monty, Ingeborg Seaboyer, John Sweeney and Elissa Tombarello; Londonderry artists Tom Abruzese, Susan Hanna, Barbara Scott, Dean Sheldon, Steven Sullivan and Jason Williams; Windham artists Patricia Crowley and Lili Mayer; East Hampstead artists Elizabeth Lewandowski; Heather Crowley, East Kingston; Maria Williams, Manchester; Salem artists Barbara Barkley, Tina Gagnon and Debra Grubbs; and Sandown artist Sandra Garrigan.
Artists representing towns in Massachusetts will also be at the art event.
Also featured at Art in Action are Londonderry High School students who will be participating as “living statues” and dressed in period costumes. Students participating are Mary Espaillat, Kailey Martin, Morgan McGrath, Brad Humphreys, Corey hart, Cooper Binette, Brianna Nowicki, Anna Shveshkeyex and Nora Lane.
Weather permitting, students will be featured in front of Mack’s Apples market both days from 10 a.m. to noon.
