Londonderry officials honor dispatch workers

---- — LONDONDERRY — Town officials paid tribute to its workers who staff both the fire and police department emergency dispatch units.

During a meeting April 15, officials read proclamations honoring National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.

Acting Town Manager and police Chief William Hart read the proclamation and presented certificates to each of the town’s dispatchers.

Hart said each staff member who works in dispatch is to be commended for handling thousands of emergency calls every year and making sure residents are safe.

“I want to thank you each for your service and professionalism you provide when we need your help so desperately,” Hart told dispatch crews.

Dispatchers honored included: fire department, Brian Johnson, Elizabeth Mahon, Gerald Johnson, Robert Simard, Christopher Schofield and Vincent Curro; police department, Robert Jones, Barbara Jones, Maria Schacht, Jason Pinault, Cindy Tuck, Rachael Cawthron and Amelia McKeever.
