---- — Anti-litter group ready to work
The Anti-Littering Advisory Committee will once again hit the streets and roads of Londonderry next month.
To celebrate spring, volunteers will be out in force on April 6, 13 and 20 to pick up litter. Last year, more than 150 bags of trash were collected.
Volunteers are invited to get involved in the cleanup project this year. To help clean up the town, arrive at the high school dirt parking area on any of the April collection dates. Cleanup efforts will begin around 9 a.m.
Head to Leach for a lively evening
On Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m., Leach Library will host Slattery and Stewart, who will perform songs from their lively Cajun repertoire, as well as the upbeat fiddle tunes of French Canada and New England, and the occasional mountain ballad.
Slattery and Stewart are fiddler Andy Stewart and vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mary Jo Slattery. The duo has toured extensively, performing in such places as Mexico, Louisiana and Jamaica.
Their presentation will take you on a tour through the musical traditions of several regions in North America, including New England. It promises to be a lively evening performance.
The program is free and open to the public. It will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
