---- — LONDONDERRY —SteveSongs comes to the Tupelo Music Hall on April 6 at 11 a.m.
The show will take kids and families on a sunny musical journey celebrating not only SteveSongs' return to New Hampshire, but also the recent release of SteveSongs’s eighth CD, "Orangutan Van."
Steve Roslonek, known as "Mr. Steve," leads SteveSongs and has hosted the PBS Kids preschool lineup since 2008, featuring popular shows like "Curious George" and "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood." He has written and performed his award-winning family music for almost 15 years.
He regularly makes appearances nationwide at PBS station events with other notable characters and is a featured visitor at libraries across the nation, encouraging children to read.
He has also made appearances at venues including the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, Fenway Park, Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and even the White House.
Roslonek said audiences in Londonderry will recognize many of the songs from his CDs and will have a lot of fun singing along.
“We’re excited that ‘Flat Stanley,’ the first single from 'Orangutan Van,' reached the number one spot on the Sirius/XM Radio Kids Place Live chart, and now ‘Song Without a Rhyme’ holds to that coveted spot," Roslonek said. "The new album and some of its songs have been four years in the making and I’m grinning to myself just thinking about sharing some of these new tunes."
SteveSongs shows are fantastic, fun-filled, kid-pleasing extravaganzas, packed with great melodies, clever stories and over-the-top interactivity. The Londonderry audience will enjoy the boisterous call and response for "Grumpy Boy", the giggle generating, tricky audition game in "Brush, Brush, Brush" and a hip hop dance to one of Roslonek's most requested new songs, "Recess Rocks".
Tickets for the Tupelo Music Hall show are $12 and are available at tupelohalllondonderry.com. The Tupelo Music Hall is located at 2 Young Road in Londonderry.
