Londonderry Superintendent Nate Greenberg sent home a letter to parents this week informing them of a redistricting proposal that involves transferring 54 students from North School to Matthew Thornton for the 2009-2010 school year. Students entering the fifth grade next year would stay in North School and not be moved.

The proposed move would encompass students living on Royal Lane, Imperial Drive, Mayflower Drive, Chestnut Hill Drive, Laurel Hill Drive, Polar Circle, Chandler Drive, Tyler Drive, Jewel Court, and Raintree Drive.

The proposal is being considered because of space issues at North School.

There will be a public hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Moose Hill Conference Room at Town Hall.

Residents who have concerns and cannot attend the meeting can e-mail questions and/or comments to the School Board at www.londonderry.org/schoolboard and utilize the automated feedback form or to the superintendent at ngreenberg@londonderry.org, or mail the School Board at 268C Mammoth Road, Londonderry, N.H. 03053.
