Fall is in the air and there's lots to do for seniors in Londonderry, Derry and Chester. New in town? New friends await you and there are activities beyond bingo and line dancing that you might find interesting.
Londonderry
The Londonderry Senior Center will host a Senior Art Gallery during the week of Sept. 15 to 19. Be sure to stop by and see the works of local seniors in a variety of mediums from watercolor paintings to quilting pieces.
The third annual Talent Show and Potluck Lunch will be held at the center on Wednesday, Sept. 24 beginning at 10 a.m. A dress rehearsal is being planned for Monday, Sept. 22, at 12:30 p.m. If you have a special talent to share — from poetry to singing to dancing — contact center coordinator Sara Landry.
Yoga for Seniors began on Tuesday and will run through Oct. 21 from 9 to 10 a.m. A new Tai Chi class begins on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 1 to 2 p.m. and will run until Oct. 23. Cost is $20 for new students and $15 for returning students. Register at the center.
The caregiver support group will now meet monthly on Mondays beginning Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. New members are always welcome.
Want to learn how to e-mail the grandkids or surf the Web for bargains? Don Sprague will offer Don's Computer Lab twice a month free of charge. The next session is on Thursday, Sept. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. Sign up at the center.
While on the subject of high tech, during this month's breakfast meeting on Sept. 26 at 9:15 a.m., a representative from AT&T will share tips on using your mobile phone. You don't need to be an AT&T customer to learn from this session. Suggested donation is $2 for the meal.
There will be a men's group informational meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 11a.m. facilitated by Ron Jablonowski. Men are welcome to come and share ideas about getting together to go on trips for fishing, bowling or maybe to Fisher Cats or Monarch Games. Suggestions will also be taken for guest speakers.
A jewelry making workshop will be held on Monday, Sept. 29 at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $7 per person which includes a $5 supply charge.

Derry
While Derry seniors are waiting for a new center of their own, activities are held at the Veterans Hall and the on Gerrish Community Center, both close to each other on West Broadway.
Activities at the Veteran's Hall include indoor walking, cardio exercise, bone building exercises, Tai Chi/stretch/yoga classes and line dancing.
Many seniors like to meet up for a hot lunch served Mondays through Fridays at 11:30 a.m. at the Marion Gerrish Community Center at 39 West Broadway. Reservations can be made at 434-5158, and the suggested donation is $2 per meal.
Cards and games are offered at the center each Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon with Whist games from 1 to 4 p.m. the same day. Bingo is offered at the center on Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Chester
The Chester Senior Citizens group regularly meets for monthly pot luck lunches, bingo, guest speakers and outings. An activity schedule can be found at www.chesterseniors.org. The group meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wason Pond Community Center, 630 Raymond Road. New members are always welcome.
