LONDONDERRY — Drivers may find their commute disrupted by blasting off Interstate 93 just south of Exit 5 for the next couple of months.
The state Department of Transportation started ledge blasting work last week near Exit 5 that is expected to last until December.
Drivers should expect short delays of less than 10 minutes during blasting in both northbound and southbound lanes.
The occasional blasting will take place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and electronic message boards will alert drivers when the blasting is happening.
The state police will be using road blocks to control traffic during blasting.
The blasting is part of the reconfiguration of Exit 5 and the placement of two bridges over a recreation trail.
The entire project is expected to be completed by November 2009.
