LONDONDERRY — Local artists will once again gather at various locations around town to put their art talents into action.
The annual "Art in Action — Artists at Work" event is set for May 3 and 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Artists from Derry, Londonderry and Windham will have working studios set up at Londonderry spots and will demonstrate their skills and also exhibit and sell their works.
Locations in Londonderry include the Grange Hall No. 44, 260 Mammoth Road (Saturday and Sunday); Londonderry Leach Library, 278 Mammoth Road (Saturday only); Elaine Farmer Art Studio, 106 Chase Road, (Saturday and Sunday).
Local art students will participate in this year's "Art in Action" and will work in an Art-a-Thon at the Londonderry High School on Saturday only.
In addition to artists working on site, musician from Nutfield Sessions are set to perform at the Grange Hall on both days from noon to 3 p.m.
Exhibitors for "Art in Action" include Patti Crowley, Corinne Dodge, Geoff Gual, Judy Krassowski, Lili Mayer, Susan Monty, Barbara Scott, Ingeborg Seaboyer and John Sweeney, who will be working at the Grange Hall; Elaine Farmer hosts her fourth annual student art exhibit at her home as well as demonstrating techniques and exhibiting her works; Ginny Barrett-Leach will work with students at the Leach Library. In addition, the library's exhibit of the month features artist Mary Burke. Mimi Johnson, Londonderry High art teacher, will work with students at the high school art room.
Organizers said "Art in Action" is a great way to get area artists in the limelight and to give the community a chance to view the artwork up close, while watching the creative process along the way.
