SPECTATOR

Short sheeted

A Derry salon continues to give sage advice to those driving by its East Broadway location.

“Life’s too short to fold fitted sheets,” the sign read.

The best rewards

Londonderry School Board Chairman Nancy Hendricks said her family is reaping some wonderful rewards.

After her 12-year-old son lost a wallet containing $35, it was found and returned intact — including the $35.

“In the world of a 12-year-old, he was very pleased to have his $35 back,” Hendricks said.

A reward was offered to the person who found the wallet, Hendricks added, but they said no. That person was a student.

“I want to thank his parents for a job well done,” she said.

Electric avenue

A local bike business has what it takes to offer patrons a chance to have fun and enjoy the downtown.

Electric Bikes of New England on Broadway offers bike rentals just in case someone wants to take a leisurely ride on the nearby Derry bike trail.

Clear the room

As one agenda item ended, it as time for another to begin at last week’s Londonderry Planning Board meeting. Some people left the meeting, while other remained to hear the next portion of business.

As people were leaving, town attorney Michael Ramsdell moved toward the microphone to give his presentation.

“It’s not unusual for people to leave when I get up to speak,” he told planners.
