---- — Quotes and cones
An insurance company on Crystal Avenue in Derry has a great view of a popular ice cream stand across the street.
The business invites people to try not only a frosty cone, but also some great insurance prices.
“Ice cream there ... insurance quote here,” the sign reads.
Begging for breakfast
There’s not much anyone can do when a dog or cat wants that early morning bowl of chow.
Just ask the officials at Handel With Care veterinary center in Derry and they will tell you it’s hard to resist that furry face watching you at 5 a.m.
“There is no snooze button on a pet that wants breakfast,” Handel’s sign said.
A small compact car was seen zooming around Derry recently, perhaps dreaming of a getaway to a sunny Florida spot or maybe just a tasty piece of pie.
The license read “KYLIME.” Maybe it was a combination of both. The car was actually a pale shade of green.
Granite State inspiration?
Sunday was New Hampshire Day at Fenway Park. Two local students were among 35 Granite State scholars honored with $1,000 scholarships and introduced to the crowd.
The color guard was from the Portsmouth Police Department and Gov. Maggie Hassan was among those on hand.
North-of-the-border fan support may have been the inspiration for the Sox that day. Trailing 5-2 in the ninth, the Sox pulled out a 6-5 win over Terry Francona’s Cleveland Indians. See story, Page 14.
