Derry News

---- — Mad about the mustache

Londonderry Middle School students and staff were sporting some extra facial hair recently.

In honor of principal Richard Zacchilli's birthday Feb. 15, many in the school were decked out in fake mustaches to honor their leader.

Not enough or too much?

Londonderry Fire Department called in for some help from police in the wee hours of Friday morning.

Firefighters were on scene on Vista Ridge Drive for "a water problem."

But they called for police backup just past 2:30 a.m., "due to irate people on scene."

No word on what the problem was.

All jazzed up

Because of the recent snowstorm, the NH All-State Jazz Festival was postponed.

Now, Pinkerton Academy announces the best in student jazz musicians will gather this week at the school for a rescheduled event.

A public concert will be held Friday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available at the door.

Too much snow?

Just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Londonderry police were called to the state sheds on Mammoth Road for a report of someone sleeping in a vehicle.

It turned out to be someone who may have been putting in some overtime recently.

"Subject works for one of the plow companies," the dispatcher wrote in the log.
