Londonderry school voters fall far short of quorum
LONDONDERRY — Just 84 registered voters showed up at Friday's school deliberative session held in Londonderry High's cafeteria.
A quorum of 500 was needed to vote on any amendments to the warrant articles that will go to voters on March 9.
A handful of residents spoke at the meeting, asking the School Board to keep the operating budget down for next year.
School Board Chairman Steve Young reminded the public that everyone is welcome to attend budget sessions in the fall when such feedback is welcomed.
Seven of the eight articles were read by board members, including the $63.5 million operating budget, and moved to the ballot.
The article not discussed was that of the election of the new school district officers. They will be voted on in March, but there are no contested races.
