---- — The donations are coming in; the spirit of giving is alive and well in Greater Derry.
The Derry News Santa Fund is on its way to another successful year of helping others.
Money raised goes directly to the Derry Community Fund, working with organizations and individuals in the area for more than 40 years.
One local salon is jumping on the holiday bandwagon once again this year to raise money to support the Santa Fund.
Advance Hair at Citizens Bank plaza will host a holiday “cut-a-thon” event on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will support the Santa Fund.
This is the third annual haircutting marathon for the salon staff.
In addition to cutting hair for a good cause, Advanced Hair will also offer a long list of raffle prizes, with the official drawing set for Dec. 15.
Stop by Advanced Hair for tickets for prizes provided by local businesses, including gift certificates, merchandise and gift baskets.
Those participating this year include Gem Jewelers, MaryAnn’s, Great American Subs, La Caretta, Shampooch, Woof Meow, Trios, Amphora, Wisteria flower shop, Cooper Homes, Derry Cycle and many more.
Consider giving to the Santa Fund this year and supporting the businesses in the community who are doing the same.
Send tax-deductible donations to: Derry News Santa Fund. P.O. Box 307, Derry, 03038 or drop it off at the newspaper office at 46 West Broadway.
