A Ford Taurus was spotted pulling into a local plaza recently, most likely looking for an early holiday deal with the license plate “IMASHPR.”

Santa Fund ready to help

The Derry News Santa Fund is underway, collecting donations to support those in need in the Greater Derry community.

All money collected stays in the local area.

Donations can be mailed or dropped off at the news office at 46 West Broadway, Derry, N.H. 03038. Donations can also be made online at derrynews.com.

Wreath stroll helps Fund

The Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber of Commerce hosts its second annual Holiday Wreath Stroll event to benefit the Santa Fund. The stroll will be held Dec. 10 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Cask and Vine, 1 East Broadway.

Decorated wreaths donated by local businesses and organizations will be up for bid during the silent auction.

Short and sweet

During a budget presentation in Londonderry, police Chief Bill Hart got ready to give town councilors another early look at his numbers for next year.

Hart joked with officials and said he would be as brief as possible.

“I am delighted to be here,” he said. “I will take no more than two hours.”

A dog’s life

Customers at Motor Sport Tire in Derry are used to being greeted by a friendly face when they bring their car in for service.

Most Fridays, one special greeter is ready to offer a smile and a wag of the tail. Lily, a small dog belonging to business owner Buster Brown, is a regular fixture at the office.
