Derry and Londonderry honor fallen veterans and host Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday, May 27.
In Derry, the annual Memorial Day parade steps off at Hood Commons at 11 a.m. and marches down Crystal Avenue to East Broadway, ending at MacGregor Park.
Traditional Memorial Day services hosted by American Legion Lester W. Chase Post 9 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1617 will follow including ceremonial laying of wreaths at the park’s veterans monuments and special guest speakers.
In Londonderry, Memorial Day events begin with the annual parade at Londonderry High School at 10 a.m. The parade marches down Mammoth Road to the Town Common area, where ceremonies will follow.
