Pinkerton dominated both territorially and in the scoring chance department. Andrea Galvin tied the game 14 minutes into the second half on a beautiful feed from Reanna Romano. Pinkerton kept up the pressure and eventually took the lead with four minutes remaining on an unassisted goal from Katy Ann Grochmal.

Pinkerton fends off Warriors

The varsity Lady Astros played a solid Warrior squad Friday toe to toe in the first half. Katy Ann Grochmal scored 17 minutes into the first half on a nice pass from Avery Drouin. She hit a beautiful ball into the upper net from 20 yards out.

Pinkerton adjusted at halftime and avoided Winnacunnet’s strong back tandem and played everything to the corner, scoring twice in a six-minute span 12 minutes into the second half. Kay Ann Grochmal netted her second goal on a corner kick that went off the keeper’s hands while Erin Coutts scored on a beautiful one touch shot from Avery Drouin off of a corner kick.

Junior Astros earn shutout

The JV Lady Astros beat Memorial, 6-0, on Sept. 4. Kyra Stariknok, Julia Bousquet, and Emilie Lalibertie all put in goals. Georgeanne Callen added her second goal of the season as well. Sydney Hill, Kyra Goucher, and Sabrina Thomas all played an excellent game at the midfield, out-possessing Memorial in both halves.

Pinkerton improves to 3-0

The JV Astros improved to 3-0 with a 3-1 victory over a tough Winacunnet team Friday. The Astros scored their first goal with only minutes left in the first half. Julia Bousquet delivered a perfect corner, and Allison Salema headed into the top corner of the net.

Although Winnacunnet scored first in the second half, the Astros came back with two more goals. Sabrina Thomas got her first goal of the season and Rachel Godwin added her third of the season.
