Astros start with a win
The varsity Astros hosted Memorial Sept. 4 in their home-opener.
Senior David Parrot broke open a scoreless tie by scoring 2 goals in an eight-minute span. Senior captains Tim Wood and Tommy Martin, and junior captain Kyle Hicks played outstandingly for the Astros. Junior Eric Werner earned his first career shut-out in goal.
Pinkerton blanks Warriors
The varsity Astros hosted Winnacunnet Sept. 6. Sophomore Sean Donohue received an excellent pass from Phil Lerner and found the back of the net for the game-winning goal, as the Astros won, 1–0, over the Warriors. Senior Tim Woody, Tommy Martin, and Zach Bell played great games. Senior Jacob Konstant and junior Alex Ebner anchored the defense.
Junior Astros earn shutout
The JV Astros shut out Memorial last week. Freshman Patrick Linehan scored his first JV goal. Kayke Alves scored once; Andrew Brochu and Noah Davis each added two goals apiece.
John Durant, Staurt Graves, Cody Gadsby and Sean Muller helped hold Memorial to one shot on goal to seal another shutout for Hayden Pavo, 6-0.
Make that three shutouts
On Sept. 6, the JV Astros allowed just one shot by Winnacunnet on keeper Hayden Pavo to give him his third shutout of the season. Andrew Brochu scored in the first half. John Dipersio added two in the second for a 3-0 victory.
Young Astros blank Memorial
On Sept. 5, the freshman Astros traveled to Memorial and came away with the 5–0 win.
Goals were scored by Coby Moore, Jake Arnold, Eddie Welch, Eric Reardon, and Keith Reynolds. Strong defense was played by John Hodson and Cooper Cela. Tucker Robbins played well in net, while Matt Morrison controlled the middle of the field.

The Lady Astros overcome a tough first half and beat Memorial, 2-1.
