Dancers in Derry make a difference

Show helps fill pantry shelves

DERRY — Dancers make a difference in Derry.

Every year, Dance Progressions hosts its annual “Dancers Making A Difference” show at the Derry Opera House.

Every year, the show reaps bountiful rewards for those in need.

Dance Progressions has hosted the show for more than a decade, joining together dancers from all over the area to dance and raise money to support the First Baptist Church food pantry.

Through the years, the show has collected thousands of dollars and many food items to support the pantry.

The first show was held in 2002 to support The Upper Room and it has grown since then to include other causes and missions, including local food pantries.

It also gives dancers a chance to learn about community service and give back to others while meeting performers from other studios in the area.
