Garden club to meet
The Derry Garden Club meets Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Massabesic Audubon Center in Auburn.
Club members will host a business meeting and the program “Gardening With Children” follows.

Renew clothing giveaway planned
Renew Clothing Closet, a ministry of Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road, offers a free, gently used clothing giveaway on Aug. 4 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Senior picnic planned Aug. 29
Derry Parks and Recreation hosts a summer senior picnic on Aug. 29 from noon to 2 p.m. at Gallien’s Town Beach, Route 102.
The menu includes barbecue basics provided by Parks and Recreation. Each participant is asked to bring a dish to share.
A ticket is necessary to attend, but attendance is free. Call Parks and Recreation for information at 432-6136.
Annual Rotary auction is coming up
The Derry Rotary Club hosts its annual benefit auction on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. at the Fireye parking lot on Tsienneto Road.
The club has hosted the fundraising auction for more than 35 years. Donations of good used furniture, sporting goods, household items, lawn and garden tools, and electronics are being collected.
All donations are tax-deductible and proceeds from the auction go to support Derry Rotary Club charities and causes, including the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Derry, The Upper Room, local soup kitchens and pantries, Community Caregivers and many more groups in the area.

Farmers Market plans corn roast
The Derry Farmers Market plans its third annual corn roast event on Aug. 8 at the market site at 14 Manning St.
Special attractions include musical entertainment. Corn roasting begins at 4 p.m., with corn supplied by J & F Farm. There will be special vendor giveaways. Regular market hours that day are from 3 to 7 p.m., rain or shine.

Cruise nights at the farm
J & F Farms, 124 Chester Road, Route 102, hosts a Cruise Night on Tuesdays from 5 to 8 p.m.
Along with a collection of classic roadsters, the farm offers fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, honey, New Hampshire crafts and ice cream. Raffles and a petting zoo are included. Call for information at 437-0535.
