BRENTWOOD — A Londonderry man, serving probation for robbery, is back in jail.
Brandon Dumont, 19, of 88 Hall Road was taken into custody following a hearing last week in Rockingham Superior Court.
Dumont served six months in jail as part of a one-year sentence for robbing a woman as she walked her dog along the Derry Rail Trail on March 28, 2010.
Dumont, accompanied by two other men, robbed the woman of beer, cigarettes and $4 near the former Depot Square Steakhouse on East Broadway.
He was sentenced by Judge Tina Nadeau in October 2010 and released last year. But since his release, Dumont has not been a model citizen, prosecutor Amy Connolly said.
He has not reported to his probation officer on multiple occasions and failed drug tests, Connolly said.
On Jan. 26, Dumont lied about why he couldn't attend one of the appointments, saying he was at work, she said.
Instead of working, he was smoking marijuana and taking Percocet, a prescription painkiller, Connolly said.
Dumont has admitted to drug use in the past, she said. He also failed to pay restitution and left a blade knife on a bureau in his home, violating terms of his release, Connolly said.
Dumont told Judge Marguerite Wageling he has a part-time job, but would pay the restitution once he gets a full-time position in March. He also denied that he admitted using drugs.
Wageling ordered Dumont be held on $20,000 cash bail. Another hearing in the case is scheduled for Feb. 9.
