LONDONDERRY — Vulcan Electric Company of Hudson is moving into an industrial park near the airport — and the company owner said he sees real potential for growth.
CB Richard Ellis last week announced it has facilitated the sale of 6 George Ave., a 37,140-square-foot industrial facility to Vulcan Electric for $1.52 million.
Vulcan owner Michael Quirk said the facility will be the new home of the company's manufacturing plant, now located in Hudson. The company makes flexible circuitry for the defense and aerospace sectors.
"The company has grown in the three years since we bought it," Quirk said. "We opened in Hudson with just 24 employees and now have close to 70."
Quirk said he sees continued expansion in the new location, eventually adding jobs in production, engineering and sales.
The facility is situated on 2.74 acres directly adjacent to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Built in 1970, the single-story industrial facility comprises a mix of office, manufacturing and high-bay warehouse space. It totals approximately 37,140 square feet.
The plant previously housed Northern Electronics Automation, a company that refurbished electronic items.
"Northern Electronics has been downsizing and this was a smart business move for them to sell," said Roger Dieker, managing broker of CB Richard Ellis.
Quirk said he is happy with the new location.
"We were lucky to acquire that property," he said. "Also, it didn't lose power during the recent storm like the Hudson building."
