Hear Rachel Revere’s side of the story

Leach Library will host performer Joan Gatturna as Rachel Revere in “The Other Side of the Midnight Ride: A Visit with Rachel Revere” Thursday at 7 p.m. Hear the story of what life was like for the second wife of Revolutionary Boston’s most famous patriot.

Gatturna is a Chautauqua storyteller and actress. Since 1990, she has toured the Northeast bringing her one-woman shows to colleges, libraries, clubs and historical societies. She developed this role with help from the staff at the Paul Revere House.

Bringing to life the story of the Boston Tea Party, the Midnight Ride, and the Siege of Boston, Rachel Revere will describe how she had to keep the home fires burning while her husband fanned the fires of revolution.

This event is free and open to the public, and will be held in the library’s lower-level meeting room. Light refreshments will be served.
