LONDONDERRY — Students were treated to a special evening at Londonderry High School last Thursday when teachers took the stage showing off their other talents besides teaching.
"We had a terrific group of teachers who did a fantastic job," said Mike Wenger, a math teacher and organizer of the event that took place in the school's cafeteria.
English teacher Steve Juster emceed the event and his wife, teacher Elizabeth Juster, sang the national anthem to kick off the show.
Donning a Red Sox jersey, social studies teacher Casey Roop, sang "Pants on the Ground" and "The War Inside," and played the songs on his guitar. He was first up for the 10 contestants. He took first place, as judged by a team of student judges.
Runners up were: first place, Brian Cortemanche and Michelle Wooding for their rendition of 1970s dancers; second place, Dan Grant and his dog, Luke, who performed a comedy routine; third place, Scott Milne and Amity Ferraro, who did a dance number with their children.
