SPECTATOR

Eat, drink and be merry

Londonderry town councilors make it a point to welcome new businesses to town during their regular meetings.

The most recent company to be welcomed was the Lazy Dog Beer Shoppe off Buttrick Road.

Owner Matt Morin said he was located near the popular Mr. Steer meat market.

“So, the next time someone goes to Mr. Steer for some marinated tips, they should stop in for some beer,” Town Manager Kevin Smith said.

Don’t egg them on

Derry salon Water’s Edge is getting into the spirit of Easter.

The exterior sign at the salon offered some springtime humor recently.

“How does the Easter Bunny stay fit? With egg-ercise!”

Teed off about snow

The snow is finally melting and it’s never too early for a game of golf.

Just ask local golfers who found time one warm afternoon to play a few holes at Hoodkroft golf course in Derry.

Golfers were enjoying the links, even though there were still some puddles along the greens and an occasional duck swimming by.

Put some purple in

Londonderry Heritage Commission members love their purple lilac.

When new development plans come before the group, many members are outspoken on possible ways to incorporate the flower into the landscape and design.

“We have a reputation for that,” Commission Chairman Art Rugg said. “It is the state flower.”

Canine stowaway

Londonderry police were called to Auburn Road Saturday morning for an unusual complaint.

“Caller reports a stray dog in her car,” the log reports.

But the pooch must have had the wrong car.

“Caller called back to advise dog had left.”
