Bank leads kids’ coat collection

Enterprise Bank has begun its 19th annual coat drive to collect gently worn coats for children in need.

Collected coats will be distributed through the Coats for Kids Distribution Partners network. The drive runs through Jan. 11.

Library to host Holmes event

Derry Public Library hosts a program dealing with the great detective Sherlock Holmes and why he is so popular. The program is Oct. 19 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the library, 64 East Broadway.

Presenter is Ann McClellan with many years of experience of teaching and information on Holmes and his literary and historical value.

Craft fair setfor Oct. 19

Pinkerton Academy Alumni Association hosts its 21st annual arts and crafts fair on Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hackler gymnasium.

The fair features more than 150 crafts, children’s activities, free parking and admission. Call for information at 437-5217.

Aurora hosts harvest bake sale

Aurora Senior Living facility, 20 Chester Road, hosts its Harvest Bake Sale on Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Sonshine Soup Kitchen. For information, call Aurora at 432-3801.

Town surplusput on block

The town’s annual surplus auction is set for Oct. 26 at the Derry police station on Municipal Drive.

Every year, town departments put surplus equipment on the auction block. Items sold include furniture, bicycles, office supplies, vehicles and much more. A complete list of auction items will appear soon on the town website.

Holiday Craft Fair has lots to offer

Derry Village School will host the 37th annual Holiday Craft Fair Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 28 S. Main St.

There will be 45 crafters or more, raffles, children’s games, refreshments, a bake sale, photo booth and a chance to see Santa.
