---- — He just plays one
Londonderry police Chief Bill Hart made it a point to offer a thank-you to town councilors who supported him during his tenure as acting town manager.
He served in the dual role for many months prior to the hiring last year of Town Manager Kevin Smith. He wanted to emphasize that he was only the “acting” official.
“I’m like Marcus Welby,” Hart said. “I only played a doctor on TV.”
What took so long?
On Sunday night, just before 8:30, Londonderry police were called to Cracker Barrel on Nashua Road for a report of an abandoned vehicle.
The 2000 Dodge Caravan “has been left at Cracker Barrel for several months,” according to the log.
Did they think the owner was in the restroom all that time?
Love the bridge, too?
A black Kia with New Hampshire vanity plates was spotted this week on Interstate 495 in that other state.
The plate read: “LOVEPEI.”
We assume the owner is a big fan of Prince Edward Island.
Men in kilts
A man was spotted walking across Broadway in Derry Monday, obviously en route to a St. Patrick’s Day event somewhere.
He may have been going to the Halligan Tavern, known for its celebratory events this time of year.
Another seasonal sight was one young man leaving the CVS store at the corner of Broadway and Crystal Avenue, sporting a bright green mohawk.
It may have been a tribute to St. Patrick’s Day, but this was a week prior to the holiday.
