LONDONDERRY — Two Londonderry High School students believed to be responsible for the vague threats reported last month have been apprehended, Londonderry police Capt. Bill Hart said.

On or around Oct. 23, the high school discovered a series of vague threats regarding an incident that was allegedly being planned for Nov. 20.

While the Londonderry school district and the Londonderry Police Department have believed from early on in this investigation that the threats lack credibility, it is the school's policy to take all threats seriously and to vigorously pursue the investigation and the prosecution of any students involved, said Principal Jason Parent in a memo sent home to parents and guardians on Monday, when the first student was identified.

"The school district wants to emphasize that it believes that at no time were any students of the district placed in danger," Parent wrote in the memo.

A second student was identified Tuesday, and a second letter was expected to go out to parents.

Hart would not specify the charges, and both students are minors.

"Appropriate law enforcement action is being taken," Hart said. "We can assure parents that Nov. 20 will be just as safe as any other day at Londonderry High."

Late Tuesday afternoon, Superintendent Nate Greenberg said he feels confident that there is no credibility to the threats.

"The school is perfectly safe," Greenberg said. "We are working with the police to ensure the safety of the students on Nov. 20. It is better to err on the side of safety. I expect the kids to show up for school that day."
