Teen charged with having stolen sign
LONDONDERRY — Police arrested a 17-year-old Londonderry girl and charged her with driving with a suspended license and having a stolen street sign from Hudson in the backseat.
When police confronted Jordan Gilcreast's Chevrolet Equinox on May 26 at 5:43 p.m., she had two street signs on the rear seat of her car, according to a police affidavit.
Police received a call that a passenger in Gilcreast's car was approaching houses. Officer Christopher Olson approached the vehicle on Wilshire Drive and charged Gilcreast with driving without a license, according to the affidavit.
When officers were doing an inventory of the car, they found a No Parking sign and a Greentrees Drive sign hidden underneath a blanket, according to the affidavit.
Officers determined the sign was from Hudson because the street was missing the sign, according to the affidavit.
Gilcreast, of 122 Capital Hill Drive, was charged with receiving stolen property and is scheduled to appear in Derry District Court on Sept. 9. She has been released on personal recognizance bail.
