Local art students will participate in this year's "Art in Action" and will work in an Art-a-Thon at the Londonderry High School on Saturday only.
In addition to artists working on site, musician from Nutfield Sessions are set to perform at the Grange Hall on both days from noon to 3 p.m.
Exhibitors for "Art in Action" include Patti Crowley, Corinne Dodge, Geoff Gual, Judy Krassowski, Lili Mayer, Susan Monty, Barbara Scott, Ingeborg Seaboyer and John Sweeney, who will be working at the Grange Hall; Elaine Farmer hosts her fourth annual student art exhibit at her home as well as demonstrating techniques and exhibiting her works; Ginny Barrett-Leach will work with students at the Leach Library. In addition, the library's exhibit of the month features artist Mary Burke. Mimi Johnson, Londonderry High art teacher, will work with students at the high school art room.
Organizers said "Art in Action" is a great way to get area artists in the limelight and to give the community a chance to view the artwork up close, while watching the creative process along the way.
Artists will award door prizes throughout the day. A map and directory of all "Art in Action" locations and participating artists is available through the Leach Library or online at www.LondonderryCulture.org. Call for additional information at 432-2447.
