New gastroenterology service comes to the Elliot

MANCHESTER — Elliot Health System announces a new specialty service, Elliot Gastroenterology. This new service will provide patients access to medical care for their gastroenterological diagnoses.

Joining the Elliot Physician Network are Drs. Yuki Igari and Michael Kaczanowski, formerly of NH Gastroenterology Inc. in Bedford. The doctors are accepting patients at The Elliot at Hooksett, 20 Chambers Drive in Hooksett, in the specialty suite.

In the fall of 2011, Elliot Gastroenterology will relocate to the Medical Office Building on the campus of The Elliot at River's Edge in Manchester, which will enable the doctors to offer efficiency of office and endoscopy space as part of an integrated Ambulatory Care Center.

Igari is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, and has served the greater Manchester community since 2002. She received her medical degree from Fukushima Medical College in Fukushima-shi, Japan, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis.

Igari obtained her fellowship in gastroenterology from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. Her clinical interests include the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and the long-term management of inflammatory bowel disease.

Kaczanowski is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He has served the greater Manchester community for the past two years. He received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, and completed his residency at Norwalk Hospital, a Yale University teaching affiliate in Norwalk, Conn. While there, he held the position of Chief Medical Resident and obtained a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Kaczanowski has published on the use of wireless capsule endoscopy for diagnosis of small bowel neoplasms. His area of special interest is in the detection of colon cancer, esophageal disease and swallowing disorders.
