---- — If you don't vote ...

Voters head to the polls March 11 to elect town and school officials, and consider budgets and warrant articles.

In Derry, voting takes place for District 1 and 3 at Pinkerton Academy's gym; District 2 voters head to Calvary Bible Church;and District 4 voters cast ballots at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School.

In Londonderry, voting is held in the Londonderry High School gym.

Polls are open in both towns from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Halftime trivia

Judging took a while during the recent apple pie contest at Mack's Apples in Londonderry. There were dozens of pies to taste and score.

During intermission, resident and School Board member Steve Young entertained the crowd with some town trivia, asking questions about buildings, notable residents and historic spots.

Enough already

One Londonderry insurance agency has had enough of the white stuff this winter. An exterior sign at the Whittemore insurance office says it all for those who are thinking spring: "Enough snow! Who wants a boat quote?"

Wanted: More voters

Londonderry resident Reed Clark continues his quest to get more people to attend town and school deliberative sessions. Clark has been outspoken for weeks about the low numbers at recent meetings. He is a regular fixture at the door, counting those who do come out.

"But next year, I'll be spending an extra month in Florida," Clark told town councilors recently. "Without me there, maybe more people will come out."

Call back later

Londonderry Town Council Chairman John Farrell's cell phone rang at the beginning of a meeting Feb. 24, just as resident Reed Clark was making his point about the lack of voter interest in town and school budget meetings.

"It's OK, I'll call her back," Farrell told Clark. "It's more important to listen to you, oh, and my daughter says hi."
