MANCHESTER — On the heels of the successful Greater Derry and Londonderry Relay for Life in June, the American Cancer Society is hosting the first ever Bark For Life event in New England on Aug. 4 at Front Park on Lake Massabesic.
Bark For Life is a 1.5 mile walk celebrating the caregiver qualities of canine "best friends" and raising funds for the ACS' life-saving mission.
The Bark For Life is a new and exciting special Relay fundraising event, separate from the local Relay For Life events, that will honor the care-giving qualities of participants' "best friends." It presents a unique opportunity for people to be empowered through their canine companion partnerships and to contribute to cancer cures through the mission of the American Cancer Society.
Teams of dogs—no more than two dogs for one person—will walk to raise money and awareness for the fight against cancer.
Registration is at 6 p.m. and the opening ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. Registration before the event is $10 per person; at the event, $25 per person.
