Join the ‘Get Fit City Challenge’
A “Get Fit City Challenge” program is planned for anyone hoping to get fit and learn all about good health.
Parkland Medical Center hosts the event and hopes to get more than 100 people to take charge of their healthy. The program is for anyone hoping to get fit, lose some weight, and learn all about good health. Weekly topics include exercise, healthy lifestyles, weight loss, food additives to avoid, and nutrition.
Free information and open registration is set for Sept. 10 anytime between 2 and 7 p.m. or Sept. 13 between noon and 4 p.m.
Classes will be held at 4 and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, and at 2 p.m. on Fridays beginning Sept. 17. A maximum number of 40 participants per session. Meetings are held in the Nutfield Building, Room 102B.

Yoga session set for seniors
LONDONDERRY — The Londonderry Senior Center and Greater Londonderry YMCA offer yoga classes to the senior community.
Barbara Scott and Lisa Kress lead an eight-week series of affordable yoga classes designed for those 55 and over to help increase flexibility and strength as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Sign up for Tuesday or Thursday classes, or both. Sessions begin the week of Sept. 10.
They run from 9 to 10 a.m. and are held at the Londonderry YMCA, 106 Rockingham Road, Londonderry.

Hospice training planned
LONDONDERRY — Amedisys Hospice of Londonderry offers training sessions for prospective hospice volunteers.
The class begins Sept. 23 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and continues once a week for six weeks.
