Be the Match is set for May 30

LONDONDERRY — There will be a Be the Match Registry bone marrow typing drive on Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Saint Jude Parish Hall, 435 Mammoth Road.

Come meet donors who have donated to save a life. Meet 14-year-old Drew from Amherst, who received a life-saving bone marrow transplant.

This drive is sponsored by the Saint Jude Parish, Community Service Committee.

They will be typing potential donors from 18 to 44 years old.

Support DMC Relay for Life team

DERRY — Want to win tickets to a Heart concert, or to a Bare Naked Ladies concert? How about a Google Chromebook by Samsung or a Zorvinos wine tasting party for 20? These are just a few of the items available from the DMC Cancer Kickers’ fundraising raffles to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Leading up to the June 21 Relay for Life at Pinkerton Academy are two final fundraising events. Raffle tickets can be purchased at both events or at the front desk of Derry Medical Center, Overlook Medical Park, 6 Tsienneto Road, Derry.

There’s a car wash Sunday, June 2, at Overlook Medical Park, 6 Tsienneto Road, Derry, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A Little Black Dress party is set for Saturday, June 8 at the American Legion Hall, 5 Riverside St., Hooksett, from 6 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Every woman is encouraged to wear a little black dress, a la Audrey Hepburn, with a prize for the most fabulous shoes. No black dress? Wear anything that isn’t jeans—and bring your friends and significant other for dancing, door prizes, raffles and fun.
