DERRY — With the cost of living going up, many families are challenged to make smarter choices on how, when and where to spend their money.
Parenting NH Magazine will host a “Dollars and Sense” workshop on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. at Pinkerton Academy.
The event brings together a panel of experts who will offer information on finances.
Dee Lee, financial educator, author and talk show host, will lead discussions on the importance of financial education for today’s families.
Lee will offer advice for parents of all ages and every lifestyle. She will ask questions and engage the audience by asking them questions throughout the presentation while encouraging them to cite examples to share with the group.
Her address will include how to live within a budget, how to plan for short- and long-term financial goals, finding hidden assets in a home and the importance of having an estate plan in place.
The workshop also includes a panel discussion with Lee and two other experts who will address the importance of talking to children about money and how to find those extra dollars throughout the year.
Panelists are Dan Hebert of Jump$tart NH and Wendy Thomas, a journalist and thrift lifestyle expert.
“The workshop will offer practical advice on stretching the family dollar, saving money and planning for tomorrow,” Parenting NH editor Melanie Hitchcock said. “Becoming a better money manager will help parents get ahead financially, be savvy consumers and become stronger role models for their children. We believe this workshop will put parents several steps forward in reaching their financial goals and achieving greater peace of mind.”
Registration is now open and will be accepted through Nov. 7. Tickets are $20 per person.
