Parkland hosts lecture series

Parkland Medical Center in Derry hosts a Community Lecture Series to kick off in February. The lecture will coincide with Heart Month and includes guest speakers offering information on how to recognized the signs of a heart attack.

Guest speakers are Dr. Andrew Coehn, cardiologist from New England Heart Institute, and Dr. Thomas Scott, medical director of Parkland's Emergency Department.

A question-and-answer period concludes the lecture. The lecture is set for Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Nutfield Professional Building, next to Parkland, at 44 Birch St., Suite 102B.

Blood drive set in East Derry Feb. 4

EAST DERRY — There will be an American Red Cross blood drive Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Parish Congregational Church.

All eligible and new blood donors are encouraged to give blood. Donors are needed every day to make sure there is an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

All donors during February will receive a $10 EMS Gear Bucks Card, redeemable at participating Eastern Mountain Sports locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and online at
