DERRY — Hundreds of people turned out for the annual community Senior Health Fair last week, hoping to learn more about staying fit and healthy.
People over the age of 60 were invited to the ninth annual fair, held at West Running Brook Middle School.
Approximately 80 vendors, who provided everything from senior health screenings and information, to driver safety, estate planning, mental health and recreational activities, filled the school gym.
Seniors were able to learn valuable information about good health, home care, community organizations that can aid them in various areas, along with how to maintain independence in their own homes.
The fair was organized by a senior health committee made up of members of community groups. Those groups include Londonderry and Derry senior volunteers, Community Caregivers of Greater Derry, Rockingham County ServiceLink, Parkland Medical Center, Vintage Grace, Pleasant Valley, Birch Heights and Derry Police Community Welfare Association.
