DERRY — Rather than exchange gifts this year, staff members at Southern New Hampshire Internal Medicine Associates donated $1,000 and the practice matched that amount to support two Derry nonprofit organizations.
The medical practice donated checks for $1,000 each to The Upper Room and the First Baptist Church of Derry food pantry.
"Many families are struggling this holiday season, so our staff decided to forgo exchanging gifts and collectively support two organizations that are focused on helping others," said Dr. Edmund Schiavnci of Southern New Hampshire Internal Medicine Associates. "Our staff's support was so generous, our physicians decided that the practice would match the amount that staff members contributed. We are pleased to be able to help local families through our support of these organizations."
The Upper Room helps individuals and families in need in the Derry community with the education, support and resources they need to help take control of their lives. The food pantry at First Baptist Church of Derry provides food to local residents who are in need of assistance in feeding their families.
