DERRY — The Marion Gerrish Community Center was a busy place last week during the extended stretch of high temperatures and high humidity.
In addition to the many regular activities for local seniors, the center also provided a cool place for anyone who wanted to escape the dangerous heat.
On Thursday, seniors were invited to dress for the occasion at a special Western-style luncheon.
Many obliged and showed up decked out in fine cowboy style.
They enjoyed a hearty lunch of pulled barbecue chicken, campfire baked beans, succotash, cornbread, apple crisp and western trail mix.
