Relay supports cancer patients

DERRY — The annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Greater Derry/Londonderry will be held June 27 at the Pinkerton Academy track on Main Street.

The annual 18-hour event kicks off at 6 p.m. and ends the following day. Teams will spend the time walking the Pinkerton track to raise money to support cancer research and patients.

A Survivors’ Lap will lead the event, and there will be special activities and themed laps throughout the Relay. Call 471-4106 for information.

Water walking classes begin

DERRY — Parks and Recreation hosts a water walking series of classes beginning Tuesday, July 1.

The classes are geared toward seniors and are under the direction of instructor Debbie Cushman-Roy.

Classes take place at Gallien’s Beach. Call 432-6136 to sign up.

Golf classic raises $94,000

MANCHESTER —The 15th annual Elliot Hospital Golf Classic June 12 exceeded its fundraising goal by raising nearly $94,000 for New Hampshire’s Hospital for Children at the Elliot.

The winning group from Cube 3 Studio included Nik Middleton, Brian O’Connor, Bruce Ignacio and Keith Boyle. Coming in second were Tom Benz, Scott Schubert, Matt Durkee and Alex Bellman.
