Diabetes program offered June 14

DERRY — Birch Heights retirement facility, 7 Kendall Pond Road, presents “Diabetes Risk Assessment: Education and Prevention” on Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m.

Learn about the risks of developing diabetes and hear information on treatments.

A Humana representative will help people assess their risk and will give other tips on living with this chronic disease.

Derry police host blood drive

DERRY — Derry Police will host the annual summer blood drive Wednesday, June 25, at Promises to Keep, 199 Rockingham Road.

The drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Donors off all blood types are welcome to give. For appointments and information, call 800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org.

Relay for Life supports cancer patients

DERRY — The annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Greater Derry/Londonderry will be held June 27 at the Pinkerton Academy track on Main Street.

The annual 18-hour event kicks off at 6 p.m. and ends the following day. Teams will spend the time walking the Pinkerton track to raise money to support cancer research and patients.

A Survivors’ Lap will lead the event, and there will be special activities and themed laps throughout the Relay. Call 471-4106 for information.
