Derry Imaging collects food donations
DERRY — The radiologic technologists at the Derry and Windham locations of Derry Imaging Center are celebrating National Radiologic Technology Week, Nov. 3-9, in an unusual way this year. The technologists will be collecting food for the NH Food Bank and the local soup kitchens that are in dire need of donations.
“Our technologists feel strongly that giving back to the community is more satisfying than just celebrating the week among themselves,” said Heidi Clark, director of Derry Imaging.
Patients, staff and the public are encouraged to bring nonperishable items such as peanut butter, canned tuna/chicken, soups, pasta, rice, macaroni -and-cheese and instant potatoes to either the Derry Imaging location at Overlook Medical Park, 6 Tsienneto Road, Derry, or to Castle Commons, 49 Range Road, Windham.
National Radiologic Week is celebrated annually to recognize the important role medical imaging professionals (technologists) play in patient care and health care safety.
Donate blood locally this month
The American Red Cross will hold several community blood drives in November. All eligible and new blood donors are encouraged to give blood.

First Parish Congregational Church, 47 East Derry Road, East Derry will host a blood drive Friday, Nov. 8, from 1 to 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, Nov. 12, there will be a drive at Londonderry Lions Hall at 256 Mammoth Road from 1 to 6 p.m.
St. Jude Parish will host a blood drive Friday, Nov. 22, from 1 to 7 p.m. at 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry
The final local drive of the month will be Nov. 29 at Londonderry Lions Hall, 256 Mammoth Road, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Learn how to handle holiday treats
DERRY — Parks and Recreation and Parkland Medical Center team up for the next installment of the “Healthy Aging” lecture series.
The next program is “All Those Holiday Treats” Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. at Alexander-Carr Lodge, 28 Pierce Ave.
The program is designed for those over 55 years of age and includes information and a question-and-answer period.
