After prostate cancer
Parkland Medical Center in Derry hosts a lecture on managing life after prostate cancer on Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Nutfield Medical Office Building, 44 Birch St.
The lecture features urologist and robotic surgeon Dr. David Canes of the Lahey Institute of Urology at Parkland. He will discuss ways to cope with the emotional and physical impact of a prostate cancer diagnosis, as well as resulting lifestyle changes.
September is Prostate Awareness Month; Canes will also give updates on treatment options.
The event is free and part of Parkland’s Community Lecture Series.

Adult yoga begins soon
Derry Parks and Recreation offers adult yoga classes this fall.
Classes are held Thursdays at Alexander-Carr Park lodge, 28 Pierce Ave.
There are two sessions. Fall I begins Sept. 13 and runs through Oct. 11. Fall II begins Oct. 25 and runs through Nov. 29.
Classes are led by Mariellen Rowe, certified yoga instructor.
