for seniors

The Londonderry Senior Center and Greater Londonderry YMCA offer yoga classes for seniors. Barbara Scott and Lisa Kress will lead the eight-week session designed especially for those 55 years of age and older to help increase flexibility and strength and help maintain well-being.

Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Londonderry Senior Center, 106 Rockingham Road.

Healthy aging lecture series planned

Derry Parks and Recreation and Parkland Medical Center have teamed up to offer a series of educational presentations about various health topics aimed at those 55 years of age and up.

The next lecture is Sept. 18 at Alexander-Carr Lodge, 28 Pierce Ave There will be guest speakers. The theme is joint arthritis.

Each month’s lecture will include a health-care expert speaking on a different topic, along with a question-and-answer session. Advance registration is required by calling 432-6136.

CLM celebrates anniversary

The Center for Life Management celebrates its 45th anniversary of serving the community, as well as the fifth year at its new center at 10 Tsienneto Road in Derry.

CLM will host an anniversary celebration and open house Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend the event.

It will feature a health fair, free screenings and information, children’s activities and a sports memorabilia auction.
