Blood drives this month

This holiday season, the American Red Cross is encouraging people to give something that means something, give blood.

The Red Cross has scheduled community blood drives throughout the state in December, including in Derry and Londonderry.

The first is Monday, Dec. 9, at Gilbert Hood Middle School, 5 Hood Road, Derry. The drive will run from 2 to 7 p.m.

There will be two drives at Londonderry Lions Hall, 256 Mammoth Road.

The first is Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 1 to 6 p.m.

Then, on Christmas Eve, there will be another blood drive at the same location from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Throughout December, all donors will receive a commemorative, long-sleeve T-shirt.

Learn how to manage stress

DERRY — Derry Medical Center presents “Stress Management” Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the wellness center at 14 Tsienneto Road Medical Park, Suite 300.

This presentation will address helpful behavioral change strategies to reduce all types of stress. The program will be presented by Brad Spickard.
